Key stage 3
In Geography, our curriculum covers locational knowledge, place knowledge, human and physical geography, geographical skills and fieldwork. Topics include: introduction to geography, map skills, settlements, China, weather and climate, international development and economic activity, population, migration, tourism, rivers, coasts, glaciation, energy and the environment, hazardous earth.
In History, our curriculum covers the development of the church, state and society in Medieval Britain 1066-1509, and in Britain 1509-1749, ideas, power, industry and empire: Britain 1745-1901, challenges for Britain, Europe and the wider world 1901 to the present day, the development of castles, a study of the Qing dynasty, the impact of migration and local history.
In PSHE, the curriculum covers the three core themes of Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World.
Key stage 4
Pupils in Year 10 and 11 work towards the most appropriate of the following qualifications:
Edexcel GCSE Geography B, Edexcel GCSE History or Pearson Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Workskills. Pupils also follow a PSHE curriculum covering the three core themes of Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Living in the Wider World.
