Enrichment Activities
At Oswestry we have periodic outdoor education activities giving the opportunity for pupils to experience learning science, geography and history in the lovely countryside and envrions of Shropshire and the Welsh borders. This includes visits to woods, lakes and canals and also heritage sites such as Ironbridge and Powis Castle.
Visits to the cinema and/or theatre are usually made during the year.
Charity activities such as Macmillan coffee mornings and Sports Relief enable pupils to become involved in baking and selling their produce or fund raising through physical challenges.
Religious and cultural festivals are explored through individual and group research activities and the preparation and consumption of food associated with those special times. We have a Christmas dinner and party in the OPA before we break up in mid December each year.
Special occasions are also commemorated, for instance Remembrance Day, and pupil birthdays are celebrated with cake.
