BTEC LEVEL 1 AWARD IN INTRODUCTION TO CONSTRUCTION

VOCATIONAL TRADE EXPERIENCE

This great course gives the learners the opportunity to develop basic trade skills! Such as Plumbing, Electrics, Basic Brick Laying and Decorating.  This opportunity may spark an interest in a career path.

What would I be doing on this programme?

Electrical Unit.

• You will learn how to install a consumer unit and sockets and then wire them in to a set standard using various tools of the trade.

Plumbing Unit

• You can then choose to complete a plumbing unit where you will be showing your skills by installing a functioning sink to a set standard and then check for leaks.

Bricklaying Unit

• Bricklaying is another unit you can choose if you’re interested. You will learn how to mix the mortar correctly and then lay your bricks to a set standard.

Decorating Unit

• You may be interested in painting and decorating. You will learn how to prepare the work area, hang wallpaper, undercoat various surfaces and finish with gloss paint.
